We are Hestia. We make a difference.
At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Support Worker to play a pivotal role in our Mental Health Service in Croydon.
Sounds great, what will I be doing?
As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to service users by carrying out comprehensive assessments, support planning, and safety planning that promote recovery, independence, and individual wellbeing. Working closely with the Service Manager, Team Manager, external agencies, families, carers, and other key supporters, you will help develop and review support, risk, and move-on plans tailored to each individual's needs. You will encourage participation in social, educational, training, employment, and skills-development opportunities, while supporting access to relevant health services. You will also help maintain a safe and positive environment, monitor housing-related responsibilities, and promote tenancy sustainment, including supporting occupancy agreement compliance and rent payments.
What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
