A well-established residential care service in West Mersea is looking for enthusiastic Support Workers to join their friendly and supportive team.
The service provides personalized support to adults with learning disabilities and autism, helping the people they support to develop their independence, make their own choices and enjoy life within their local community.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support based around the individual needs, choices and interests of those you support.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting individuals with their daily routines and personal care
- Helping people develop and maintain everyday life skills
- Supporting individuals to access the local community and enjoy activities
- Building positive and trusting relationships
- Following individual care and support plans
- Promoting choice, dignity and independence
- Supporting communication and social relationships
- Working as part of a friendly and dedicated team
- Completing appropriate records and documentation

Shift Patterns
The service offers varied shift patterns to provide flexibility around the needs of the service and its staff.
The main shift pattern is
7:15am - 8:15pm
There are also a variety of alternative shift options, including:
- 9:00am - 5:00pm
- 9:00am - 6:00pm
- 9:00am - 4:00pm
The contracted minimum is 35 hours per week.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Caring, patient and compassionate
- Reliable and committed
- A confident communicator
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- Passionate about supporting people to live as independently as possible
- Able to build positive relationships with those around them
- A driver with either a full UK driving licence or an automatic-only licence

Previous experience within care or support work is desirable, particularly experience supporting people with learning disabilities or autism.
