About the role:
Linsell House is a care home situated in Dunstable that offers both residential and respite care, as well as support to adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). We currently have a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our aim is to support those who use the service to reach their full potential. We do this by promoting independence, supporting the individuals to make their own choices and to live their best life and find their greatness. As a Support Worker, we will also aim for you to find your greatness from a career perspective.
Within the role as a Support Worker, you will help ensure the physical, emotional and psychological needs of those who live and stay at Linsell House, and make sure they are met through the provision of a supportive and caring environment. This will include offering support in all areas of personal care, including developing and maintaining daily life skills and interactions.
We will help develop your skills and knowledge during your first few months in a number of areas, including the administration of medication and supporting the management team to facilitate the running of different areas of the services. You may be required to support Residential Workers with key working responsibilities and attend some meetings or appointments with some residents.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to someone's life whilst developing your career in an organisation that can offer support, training and progression as a Support Worker.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
