I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are currently recruiting for a part-time role for 15 hours per week to join our dedicated team in Donald Dewar Court, Aberdeen.

In this service, we support 7 individuals who live in two purpose-built bungalows with their own gardens. The people we support all have different needs, including requiring some assistance with their mobility, personal care and to manage their day to day lives and maintain their own homes.

They have a wide range of interests and hobbies, which include spending time in their gardens (they have a trampoline and a swing), colouring in, horse riding, going for walks, going to the pub and enjoying meals out with friends.

We provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so there will be an expectation of some weekend work. Our shift patterns are:

  • 7am - 2.30pm
  • 2.15pm - 9.45pm
  • Waking nights (these are usually covered by a dedicated waking night team) and sleepovers.

Due to the needs of the people we support, a full UK driving licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle is essential for this role. To be able to enrol on the company insurance, you must also be over 25 years old.
