Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one care and support.
• Support the client in following established routines and behavioural strategies in accordance with their ABA programme.
• Encourage independence, communication, social development and life skills.
• Accompany and actively participate with the client in sporting and physical activities, including basketball, cycling, swimming, table tennis and gym sessions.
• Support the client when accessing activities and facilities within the local community.
• Promote a safe, positive and supportive environment at all times.
• Follow established care plans, behavioural strategies and guidance from the wider support team.
• Maintain consistency in approach and routines.
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers and other professionals involved in the client's support.
• Assist with developing confidence, independence and participation in everyday activities.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• Proven experience working with individuals with Autism and/or Global Developmental Delay.
• Practical experience working within or alongside an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programme.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant care, support or special educational needs role is highly preferred.
• A clean, full UK driving licence.
• A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs.
• A patient, calm and consistent approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to follow structured behavioural programmes and implement agreed strategies consistently.
• A proactive and responsible approach to safeguarding and care.
• The ability and willingness to participate in regular physical activities.
• A good level of physical fitness and energy, as the role involves accompanying the client during active sporting and gym sessions.
• Relevant health or social care qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care) are desirable.
• Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion, and commitment to non-discriminatory practice.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete background checks and mandatory training.

The successful candidate will be someone who can build a positive relationship with the client while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and consistency. They should be confident working one-to-one, comfortable in active environments and able to adapt their approach to the client's individual needs.
