Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Support Worker role based in Cardiff. The Support Worker will provide day-to-day care and support for individuals with complex mental health needs, personality disorders, autism, and other specialist needs, following personalised care plans.

- Assisting with daily living activities
- Promoting independence
- Supporting therapeutic and educational programs
- Encouraging service users to engage with treatment and rehabilitation
- Monitoring wellbeing
- Documenting observations
- Reporting concerns
- Ensuring safeguarding and safety at all times
The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive and respectful environment, and helping service users build confidence, life skills, and greater self-responsibility.
Qualifications
- Experience: Candidates should possess Support Worker experience or similar care/support roles, with an understanding of mental health and specialist care needs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills, including empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting, professional relationships.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Candidates should possess Safeguarding knowledge, including awareness of policies, procedures, and best practices for protecting vulnerable individuals.
- Communication Skills: Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and accurate record-keeping.
- Technical Support and IT Skills: Candidates should possess basic Technical Support and IT skills, such as using electronic care systems, documentation tools, and communication platforms.
- Relevant Qualifications: Relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care) or equivalent experience are beneficial.
- Teamwork: Ability to work flexibly in a team, follow clinical guidance, and maintain professional boundaries is essential.
- Commitment: A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and person-centered care is required.
