Job Description
The Supported Accommodation Officer will be responsible for the delivery of a Regulated Service - Homeless Hostels. The role involves planning, monitoring, and supervising the service to enable service users to live as independently as possible within the community. The officer must act in accordance with Health & Social Care Standards, SSSC Registration, and Care Inspectorate requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day management of a Regulated Service.
- Supervise, support, and identify development opportunities for staff.
- Work in a multi-professional way by liaising with internal and external colleagues.
- Contribute to the maximization of income from occupied accommodation.
- Deliver emergency and temporary accommodation.
Requirements
- Recent experience of multidisciplinary working in a Housing Support/Social Care environment or a medical environment.
- Experience of supervising staff.
- Experience of risk assessment process.
- Educated to HNC/SVQ4 in Social Care or SEN: SRN qualification.
- PDA in supervision or evidence of ability to obtain the qualification.
- Evidence of ability to meet SSSC registration requirements and continuing PRTL requirements.
- Registered NMC.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Competent in the use of IT systems, including Microsoft and bespoke IT systems.
- Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
- Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
- Evidence of being self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
- Ability to negotiate and liaise with appropriate others and resolve conflict.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to service development.
- Ability to work in partnership in a multi-professional way.
- Willingness to accept direction/delegation.
- Ability to undertake home visits to tenants in their own tenancy or temporary accommodation.
- Ability to work in an open-plan office.
- Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements.

Additional Requirements
- You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car.
- This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act, it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
