Job Description: Operations Manager
Organisation: The Bridge Homelessness to Hope, Leicester
Reports to: Operations Manager
Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday (occasional Saturday where operational needs dictate)
Salary: £34,000

About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, organised and proactive Supported Housing Project Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of our existing supported housing provision and help to develop new projects. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will manage and support Housing Support Workers, oversee tenants' progress, maintain high standards of safety and accommodation, solve operational problems and escalate concerns when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and provide regular line management to Housing Support Workers, monitoring caseloads and supporting consistent, high-quality practice.
- Conduct regular one-to-one coaching sessions and appraisals with line managed staff. Oversee staff induction, development, and wellbeing.
- Manage performance issues, grievances, and disciplinaries in line with policy.
- Support with recruiting new staff, including advertising, short-listing, interviewing.
- Oversee tenant progress against support plans and agreed goals, ensuring plans are meaningful, regularly reviewed and focused on progression and independence.
- Ensure individual risk assessments, property checks and fire risk assessments are current, with incidents, safeguarding concerns and emerging risks acted on appropriately.
- Manage day-to-day operational issues, support positive staff–tenant relationships and help resolve challenging situations or conflict.
- Oversee resident induction, behaviour issues, crises, and breaches of licence.
- Oversee the condition, maintenance, health and safety of supported accommodation, following up repairs and working with staff, contractors and the Operations Manager to resolve issues.
- Promote a compassionate, strengths-based and professional approach across the housing service.
- Developing new projects alongside the Operations manager to ensure The Bridge Homelessness to Hope’s mission and values are lived out in practice.
- Translate strategic plans into operational work plans with clear targets and outcomes.
- External relationship building.
- Monitor outcomes and contribute to the ongoing development of the project.

Working with the Operations Manager
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and oversight of supported housing while keeping the Operations Manager informed of progress, emerging risks and operational issues. You will be expected to make appropriate decisions within the scope of the role and recognise when additional guidance or senior escalation is needed. Regular supervision and project reviews will support complex case discussion, problem-solving, performance and service development.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience of managing a team, with a good understanding of line management responsibilities and evidence of appraisal and managing under-performance
- An understanding of the complexities of working with vulnerable people and people who are experiencing multiple disadvantages.
- A compassionate, nurturing and non-judgemental approach, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience of managing difficult situations and conflict, while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
- Ability to support and motivate staff, organise a varied workload, solve problems and know when to escalate concerns.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality and person-centred support.
- Good IT skills, including maintaining clear records and monitoring progress.

Transferable Experience Welcome
Excellent managers do not necessarily come from a traditional supported-housing background. We welcome transferable experience from other people-focused management settings. We are particularly interested in your ability to lead people well, build positive relationships and create an environment in which both staff and the people we support can progress.
