Supporter Engagement Officer | Full time | 35 hours | 12 Months Fixed Term (maternity cover)

Full Time Salary: £39,754 - £43,188

Length of Contract: 12 months fixed term maternity cover

Hours: 35 hours per week | Monday - Friday, occasional evening work

Location: National Museum of Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh | Hybrid

About the Supporter Engagement Officer role:

The role of Supporter Engagement Officer is an opportunity to contribute to the work of National Museums Scotland by working across the Philanthropy team to help steward individual and organisational supporters.

Through this role you will deliver enhanced stewardship for individual and institutional donors, deepening their relationships with the museums and our collection. You will develop processes, reporting and materials that will strengthen supporter engagement.

This is a fixed-term, full-time post, for 12 months while a member of the team is on maternity leave.

As Supporter Engagement Officer at National Museums Scotland you will:

  • Major donor stewardship; develop and deliver stewardship activities that support increased and enhanced engagement with existing supporters (individuals and trusts), deepening their relationships with National Museums Scotland, increasing retention rates and lifetime giving.
  • Develop and manage key Supporter Stewardship processes, including Donor recognition audits and updates, improving the quality of supporter recognition in public spaces and online.
  • Work with colleagues to gather information and develop content to share with donors that will convey the impact of their philanthropic support.

Skills and experience we’re looking for in our Supporter Engagement Officer:

  • Knowledge of donor stewardship and engagement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in a relevant or transferable environment (charity, fundraising, etc)
  • Experience of using a CRM database
  • Planning and organisation skills, managing multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment
