We are currently recruiting for an experienced SURF Flowlines, Spools & Jumpers Lead to support the execution phase of a major deepwater greenfield development. The position will be based in London on a residential basis, with an anticipated start in October 2026, subject to FID. 12 month renewable contract.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the design of rigid flowlines, spools and jumpers within offshore Oil & Gas deepwater SURF EPCI projects.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, particularly DNV.
  • Experience working with contractors, suppliers and technical engineering teams on major projects.
  • Ability to work effectively within large, multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
  • Positive, proactive, pragmatic and constructive approach to project delivery.

The SURF Flowlines, Spools & Jumpers Lead will be responsible for the engineering and design activities associated with flowlines, associated structures, rigid spools and rigid jumpers throughout the Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Construction and Commissioning (EPSCC) phases of the project.

The role will report to the SURF Technical Manager, supporting the wider SURF team and interfacing with other project teams including SPS and Field Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all EPSCC engineering activities relating to flowlines, rigid spools and jumpers.
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of the project flowline systems, including production and gas injection flowlines and associated structures.
  • Define, develop, issue and maintain technical documentation covering flowline and associated structures design, spool and jumper design, procurement and fabrication.
  • Review and validate engineering studies, drawings, specifications, procedures and other documentation produced by the SURF contractor and suppliers.
  • Ensure contractor engineering complies with project specifications, procedures, applicable international codes and standards, quality requirements and HSE requirements.
  • Review in-place and installation analyses prepared by contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor contractor and supplier engineering progress, identify deviations or schedule risks and propose corrective actions.
  • Lead the flowline engineering team, including an additional Spool & Jumper Engineer.
  • Provide technical support covering fabrication, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of the flowline system.
  • Identify unsafe designs, technical deviations, unjustified design choices and constructability issues.
  • Act as the principal technical point of contact for contractors and suppliers on flowlines, associated structures, spools and jumpers.
  • Ensure technical compliance throughout engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing and installation.
  • Coordinate interfaces with other package teams, including SPS and FPSO.
  • Organise and participate in project reviews.
  • Support the SURF Technical Manager and Package Manager with technical, project execution and contract-related matters.
  • Support offshore installation campaigns, testing, commissioning and handover activities where required.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to project close-out reporting.
