Surveillance Analyst
The Surveillance function, sitting within Compliance, monitors Market Conduct, Financial Crime and Conflicts of Interest risks utilising a combination of automated and manual controls monitoring transactions and communications. The division performs Surveillance across all business activities and regions including London, New York, Singapore and Shanghai.
Surveillance work closely with Compliance IT to assist development and maintenance of its monitoring systems and other related Compliance technology. This ensures the continued innovation and enhancement to meet new regulatory requirements, changes in business strategy and emerging risks within the Bank.
What you'll be doing
We are seeking an experienced Analyst to join the Surveillance Alerts & Investigations team. The role is responsible for the review, assessment and triage of surveillance alerts generated across market conduct, financial crime and communications surveillance frameworks.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, assessing and escalating activity that may indicate market abuse, financial crime, regulatory breaches or other forms of misconduct. Where concerns are identified, the Analyst will support investigations that may contribute to the submission of Suspicious Transaction and Order Reports (STORs), Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), internal disciplinary actions or other regulatory escalations.

- Experience working in a Surveillance unit within a regulated financial institution,
- Experience working with transaction, client and firm static data.
- Experience analysing and presenting data within Excel or other reporting tools
- Understanding of Financial Instruments and Regulated Markets
- Understanding of Commodity products and experience in Commodity market abuse monitoring
- Understanding of relevant Market Abuse laws, regulations and guidelines
- Understanding of Financial Crime rules and regulations, including rules and regulations on anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions and fraud.
- Understanding of client onboarding processes
- Understanding of FCA relevant Market Conduct rules
- IT skills including proficient level of Microsoft Excel
- Mandarin communication skills written and verbal would be beneficial but not required
