We are working with a significant Global Quantitative and Systematic Investment Manager who are looking for an Communications Surveillance Specialist to join their compliance team in London, in a newly created position.

The role will review electronic and voice communications to identify potential misconduct and help the firm meet its regulatory obligations. Working closely with colleagues across Compliance, Trading and Technology, you will investigate alerts and contribute to the continued development of our surveillance systems, controls and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily reviews of electronic communications alerts across channels including email, Bloomberg chats and other messaging platforms.
  • Review voice communications alerts and investigate potentially concerning behaviour.
  • Assess and document alerts, conduct investigations and escalate findings in accordance with regulatory expectations and internal policies.
  • Help integrate new communications feeds into the surveillance platform, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate coverage and data quality.

Key Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ communications surveillance experience within a trading venue, regulator or financial institution. Prior experience in a high-frequency trading firm or multi-strat hedge fund is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing electronic and voice communications alerts. Familiarity with Global Relay is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills. Trade surveillance experience or knowledge of market abuse risks is beneficial.

This is a permanent role and will require you to be in the office 5 days a week.
