Obsurvus are Monitoring Specialists in the land surveying/engineering industries with company headquarters based in Doncaster and serving clients throughout the UK. The organization’s in-house team brings over forty years of combined experience in the surveying industry. Since 1994, Obsurvus has supported a wide range of clients on complex geospatial, monitoring, and land survey projects.

Role Descriptions
The Survey Engineer is a full-time, on-site role, responsible for delivering accurate land and engineering monitoring surveys to support a variety of projects across the UK. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Planning and conducting field surveys
- Operating surveying instruments and equipment
- Collecting and verifying geospatial data
- Performing inspections of sites and structures
- Processing survey data
- Preparing drawings and models using CAD software
- Collaborating with civil engineers and project teams to ensure that survey outputs meet technical and regulatory requirements

The Survey Engineer will also support quality control, maintain equipment, provide guidance to junior team members, and contribute to safe and efficient field operations.

Qualifications
- Strong land surveying skills, including field data collection, geospatial measurement, and topographic and engineering surveys.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles to interpret design requirements and support infrastructure and construction projects.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for producing survey drawings, plans, and 3D models.
- Inspection skills for assessing site conditions, verification, and documenting findings accurately.
- Coordinate field crews, mentor less-experienced team members, and support safe, organized site operations.
- Attention to detail, strong numerical and spatial reasoning, and the ability to work effectively in outdoor environments and varied site conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with clients, engineers, and colleagues; ability to prepare clear reports and documentation.
- Relevant technical qualification in land surveying, civil engineering, geomatics, or a related field; professional certification or membership in a surveying body is an advantage and but not a requirement.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites across the country as needed.
