Survey Sales Manager - Remote

Are you a driven, committed and ambitious Sales professional with a strong customer-first approach? Then join us at VELUX Commercial as Survey Sales Manager (Partners). We are looking for someone to join our field sales team in the South West region. Your territory will cover South Wales and the South West of England, extending from Shropshire and Herefordshire through Gloucestershire and Swindon, down to Devon and Cornwall therefore, candidates should be located centrally with good access to these areas.

VELUX Commercial (VC) is a new division in the VELUX Group, established in 2019 and comprises the former JET, Vitral and VELUX Modular Skylights organisations. Today, VELUX Commercial operates as one company with more than 1100 people in 13 countries and offers to support building professionals throughout the entire process from specification to delivery and maintenance of daylight and ventilation solutions for industrial, commercial, and public buildings.

Your challenges

In this role, you will join our VELUX Commercial Field Sales team in GB&I, which is dedicated to putting the needs of our customers first. Our team is characterised by a growth mindset, informal tone, and open-door culture. As a team, we offer as well as accept help and feedback and make sure we have fun together.

As Survey Sales Manager (Partners), you will be responsible for the management of our network of strategic membrane partners, roofing sub-contractors and key decision makers within your geographical area of operation on projects from conception, surveying to installation.

What You Will be Doing:

  • Maximise sales via strong focus on customer and area management.
  • Secure and win business for VELUX Commercial by developing VC specified projects or conversion.
  • Demand creation & future proofing through development and maintenance of a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Maintain CRM records for Area contacts and projects.
  • Develop and implement strong closing techniques on projects, especially those run by Main Contractors and Installer partners.
  • Raise VC product awareness throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Fostering key relationships with all customers with a primary focus on waterproofing membrane partners, whilst managing the sales cycle through the buying centre including but not limited to roofing contractors and installers.
  • Build effective working relationships with relevant trade, industry and regulatory bodies.
  • Seek all opportunities to influence key decision makers to incorporate VC products into their design.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys (Working at height) and use of ladders.
  • Maintain high relevancy for VC within the commercial market.
  • Establish VC products as a clear choice in both market share and market opinion.
  • Work both individually and with colleagues to achieve company strategy objectives, targets and goals.
  • Monitor market potential and manage new sales leads from design handover to delivery and installation.
  • Carry out any other tasks as may be reasonably requested in relation to your role.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience managing the sales process from lead generation through to project completion.
  • Territory sales experience.
  • Strong networking skills with the ability to generate and maintain business relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships at all levels.
  • Highly organised, with excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Comfortable working at height and able to carry ladders and surveying equipment as part of site visits.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in project sales.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of current Building Regulations, including Parts L and B.
  • Technical product knowledge.
  • Experience within roof construction, façades, glazing, or related construction sectors.
  • Experience working on construction sites and conducting surveys at height.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • DBS check or previous experience working within schools or with vulnerable people.
