Profind Surveys Ltd is a growing engineering and geospatial surveying company based in Tamworth.
We provide specialist surveying services throughout the UK across construction, infrastructure, highways, rail, utilities, commercial property and residential development.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for motivated people to join our team across a range of field-based and office-based positions.

LAND SURVEYOR

As a Land Surveyor, you will undertake a variety of topographical, engineering and infrastructure surveys throughout the UK.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Undertaking topographical and engineering surveys.
  • Establishing and verifying survey control.
  • Operating total stations, GNSS receivers and digital levels.
  • Completing traverses, levelling, as-built and setting-out surveys.
  • Processing field observations and preparing survey data.
  • Completing survey checks and maintaining clear QA records.
  • Communicating with clients, site teams and project managers.

You should have experience in topographical / engineering surveying and be comfortable working independently or as part of a survey team.

Experience with Trimble / Leica equipment, N4ce, Trimble Business Center, BricsCAD or similar software would be beneficial.

MEASURED BUILDING SURVEYOR

As a Measured Building Surveyor, you will capture accurate building information using laser scanners, total stations and conventional measurement techniques.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Undertaking internal and external measured building surveys.
  • Capturing floor layouts, walls, openings, roof features, structures and visible services.
  • Establishing survey control and coordinating scan data.
  • Planning scan positions to achieve suitable survey coverage.
  • Registering and reviewing point clouds.
  • Preparing survey notes, photographs and supporting site records.
  • Working with CAD technicians to produce floor plans, elevations, sections and 3D models.
  • Checking completed drawings against the point cloud and project specification.

Experience in measured building surveying, land surveying or laser scanning would be beneficial.
Training may be provided to candidates with strong core surveying skills who want to specialise in measured building surveys and point-cloud capture.

SURVEY ASSISTANT

As a Survey Assistant, you will work alongside experienced surveyors and support the delivery of land, engineering and measured building surveys.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Setting up tripods, targets and survey equipment.
  • Holding prisms, GNSS poles and levelling staffs.
  • Assisting with site measurements and field records.
  • Marking and identifying survey control points.
  • Preparing, cleaning and maintaining survey equipment.
  • Downloading, organising and backing up survey data.
  • Supporting safe working practices on construction sites.
  • Learning to use total stations, GNSS equipment, digital levels and laser scanners.

Previous surveying experience is not essential.

This role may suit someone with experience in construction, engineering, utilities or outdoor site work, as well as someone looking to begin a new technical career.

Apprenticeship and structured training opportunities may be available to suitable candidates.

GEOSPATIAL CAD TECHNICIAN

As a Geospatial CAD Technician, you will convert field observations, survey data and point clouds into accurate client deliverables.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Producing topographical survey drawings.
  • Processing coded field data and survey observations.
  • Creating digital terrain models, contours, breaklines and surfaces.
  • Producing measured building floor plans, elevations and sections.
  • Extracting information from registered point clouds.
  • Preparing 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
  • Applying company CAD, layering and presentation standards.
  • Checking coordinates, levels, dimensions and drawing completeness.
  • Identifying gaps or inconsistencies within survey data.
  • Managing drawing revisions and project records.

Experience with BricsCAD, AutoCAD or similar CAD software is required.

Experience with N4ce, Trimble Business Center, Trimble RealWorks, Revit, Rhino, CloudCompare or other geospatial software would be beneficial but is not essential.

A full UK driving licence is required for field-based surveying positions.

Relevant qualifications in surveying, civil engineering, construction, architecture, CAD or a related subject would be advantageous but are not essential for every role.
