About The Role
This six-month temporary Surveyor position, based in Yeovil, covers Somerset, Devon, and Dorset, with occasional travel elsewhere. Surveyor – 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract - Yeovil

Are you passionate about improving housing standards and making a real difference to people’s lives?
We’re looking for a customer-focused Surveyor to join a social housing company, helping ensure residents have safe, warm homes across Somerset, Devon, and Dorset, with occasional travel to other locations as required.
This is an opportunity to use your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to tackle property issues, investigate building defects, and support complex disrepair cases, while helping improve the quality and sustainability of existing homes.
🔑 Key Responsibilities Include
- Investigating property defects and identifying practical solutions.
- Supporting complex disrepair cases and housing improvement programmes.
- Working collaboratively with contractors, colleagues, and external partners.
- Providing clear advice and support to residents.
- Identifying cost-effective solutions that improve property conditions and customer wellbeing.

👷 What we’re looking for:
- Experience in building surveying, property maintenance, or a similar construction or housing environment, alongside relevant Building Surveying studies at HNC/HND level or above.
- You’ll be a confident communicator, an effective problem-solver, and someone who can balance technical requirements with a compassionate, customer-first approach.
RICS membership would be advantageous but is not essential.
