Overview
Montagu Evans LLP is a UK property consultancy that helps clients unlock value from complexity, because that’s where the most meaningful opportunities live.
Our purpose is to bring clarity, creativity, and conviction to the complex. We are experts who collaborate to create value, not just preserve it and our team is built for impact, not oversight.
We specialise in high-value, complex assets across the property lifecycle, where political, technical or commercial challenges demand a joined-up approach.
Role Overview
The role is primarily land agency focussed, however it interfaces strong with our Development Advisory and Capital Markets service lines, bringing solutions to landowners to their development challenges through a transaction.
This individual will assist the team, including Senior Surveyors, Associates and Partners, in advising public and private clients on how to achieve their aims, whilst at the same time ensuring that their strategy moves forward in both a realistic and responsible manner. They will be involved in often high-profile, major mixed-use development projects from conception through to adding value (e.g. through planning) and of course transactions.
The Team
The role is to focus on Land Agency as part of a broader team of experts into the Development sphere. The role will be largely agency focussed; however the ethos of the team and department is collaborating to bring opportunities of greater complexity into fruition, utilising not only department skills but also the skills of the 110 strong Planning department. The offering is drawn together under our Residential Conviction banner.
This role specifically fits within the Development & Strategic Advisory (DSA) team. The 50-strong team provides a range of services including:
- Land Agency
- Residential Capital Markets
- Town centre development and repositioning
- Regeneration-based development & delivery advice
- Development consultancy and agency
- Residential capital markets consultancy & agency
- Site assembly & CPO
- Strategic economic & case making advice
- Programme & project management

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
