Overview
Montagu Evans is a UK property consultancy that helps clients unlock value from complexity, because that’s where the most meaningful opportunities live. Our purpose is to bring clarity, creativity, and conviction to the complex. We are experts who collaborate to create value, not just preserve it and our team is built for impact, not oversight.
We specialise in high-value, complex assets across the property lifecycle, where political, technical or commercial challenges demand a joined-up approach.
The Team & Department
This position sits within our successful and market-leading Valuation & Investment Advisory team, which is structured across Commercial Valuation, Specialist Valuation and Investment Advisory workstreams.
The team provides a focused yet diverse range of services to public and private sector clients. These include purchase and disposal reports, asset valuations, option appraisals, secured lending valuations, credit assessments, alternative use evaluations, portfolio strategy advice, overage advice, and expert witness and dispute resolution support, all underpinned by valuation expertise.
With growing demand from both established and new clients, the team has ambitious plans for expansion. We are seeking an Apprentice Surveyor to specialise in valuation work, predominantly for private sector clients, with a focus on development and investment assets.
This is a pivotal role, involving the delivery of a wide range of valuation-focused advice and the opportunity to work closely with experienced colleagues across the team. It offers clear scope for professional growth and progression within a highly successful partnership, in an exciting and supportive environment.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Surveyor to join our dynamic team, focusing on a diverse range of public and private sector portfolio work. This role is integral to the delivery of high-quality valuation services, primarily for private sector clients, including banks, alternative lenders and property owners, across both development and investment asset classes throughout the UK.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
