SUSTAINABILITY ANALYST
DEPARTMENT: SUSTAINABILITY
LOCATION: Central London (Regent's Place, NW1) Hybrid – 4 days in office
REPORTING TO: Senior Sustainability Manager
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Permanent

THE ROLE
The Sustainability Analyst will play a key role in supporting the delivery and measurement of British Land's Social Sustainability Strategy and wider Sustainability ambitions.
This role combines programme coordination, data management and stakeholder engagement responsibilities. Day-to-day activities include coordinating defined social impact data collection, maintaining reporting systems and supporting the validation and analysis of social value data across British Land's portfolio.
The analyst will work closely with internal teams, charity partners and external stakeholders to support effective programme delivery, governance processes and preparation of complete, accurate and timely reporting information.
The successful candidate will operate effectively within a matrix environment, balancing priorities across programme delivery and reporting requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating positive social impact and keen to develop expertise across community investment, social value, and sustainability reporting.

What You’ll Do
- Coordinate social impact data collection and undertake first-line validation across British Land's retail, campus and development portfolios.
- Support reporting against British Land's social sustainability targets, annual sustainability reporting requirements and external benchmarks.
- Maintain reporting systems, user records, process documentation and audit evidence.
- Coordinate Social Impact Committee governance processes, including agendas, papers, action tracking and meeting records.
- Track programme expenditure, commitments and budgets, escalating discrepancies to the appropriate budget owner.
- Act as an operational point of contact for charity partners and community organisations.
- Support the management of employee matched funding and payment processes.
- Support delivery of social impact programmes across education, employment, volunteering and community investment priorities.
- Act as a key user for Thrive, Optimy and other social impact systems, supporting user access, reporting and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting quality and operational efficiency.
About You
- Degree qualified in Sustainability, Social Sciences, Geography, Business, Community Development, Data Analysis or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience and a demonstrated interest in social impact.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel and Data Management Systems.
- Experience collecting, validating and managing information from multiple sources.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously.
- Organised, proactive and self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Passion for social impact, sustainability and community investment.

Desired Knowledge And Experience
- Experience administering grant-making, community investment or social impact programmes.
- Experience working with reporting systems, databases or CRM platforms.
- Experience supporting reporting, assurance or audit processes.
- Experience using Dashboards, Power BI or similar tools.
- Understanding of social value measurement, community investment or sustainability reporting frameworks.
- Experience working with charities, community organisations or social enterprises.
