About the Role
An exciting role has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join Sussex Community’s nationally-recognised sustainability team, supporting our Care Without Carbon (CWC) programme within the Trust and the wider region. This role is for 3 days per week.
Based at Brighton General Hospital, the job involves supporting the Communications Manager for Care Without Carbon in developing and delivering multifaceted sustainability engagement campaigns at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) and other partner NHS organisations in the region. The role demands excellent writing skills as there is a lot of content creation for the website as well as Trust channels.
The post-holder will play a key role supporting Care Without Carbon's sustainability engagement programmes and associated wellbeing/sustainable behaviour change offering both internally and for other trusts.
Please note: Due to recent changes in UK immigration and visa rules, this role may not be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants who do not currently have the right to work in the UK may not be considered. Candidates requiring sponsorship should review the eligibility criteria on the gov.uk website before applying to assess their eligibility for a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
