ABM UK is seeking a proactive and engaging Sustainability & Social Impact Advisor to support the delivery of environmental, sustainability and social value objectives across our operations at Heathrow Airport.
This advisor-level role will support the implementation of sustainability and ESG initiatives across the Heathrow contract, with a particular focus on delivering measurable social impact and positive community outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams, suppliers, community partners and client stakeholders to help embed sustainable practices, support environmental objectives and coordinate social impact activity aligned to contract commitments and Heathrow’s wider sustainability ambitions.
The role will involve supporting environmental and sustainability reporting, employee engagement, community programmes, volunteering initiatives, local employment activity and wider ESG performance improvement across the site. The successful candidate should be passionate about sustainability and social impact, highly organised and confident working within a fast-paced operational environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting sustainability, ESG and social impact commitments across the Heathrow contract
- Coordinating community engagement, volunteering, education outreach, apprenticeships and local employment initiatives
- Building relationships with charities, community groups, education providers and suppliers
- Monitoring environmental performance, including waste, recycling, carbon reduction and resource efficiency
- Collecting and maintaining accurate sustainability and social impact data
- Supporting employee awareness campaigns and engagement activities
- Producing communications, case studies, presentations and internal updates
- Assisting with environmental inspections, audits and compliance reviews
- Identifying opportunities to improve environmental performance and increase social impact
- Supporting community events, charity partnerships and careers activities

About you
You will have previous experience in sustainability, ESG, social value, CSR, environmental management or community engagement. You will also bring:
- A good understanding of sustainability principles and ESG frameworks
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience coordinating projects, initiatives or reporting activities
- The ability to analyse and present data clearly and accurately
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
