Sustainability Apprentice – Ecolab Life Sciences Contamination Control Division

When joining Ecolab, you’ll tackle some of the world’s most meaningful challenges while growing in a dynamic environment. Now, we’re seeking a passionate candidate to join our Apprenticeship Programme as a Sustainability Apprentice in Ecolab Life Sciences, specialising in contamination control solutions for Pharmaceutical, Personal Care, Health and Beauty manufacturers.
This role provides an exceptional opportunity to develop skills in sustainability, business operations, and global markets while contributing to impactful projects.
About the Role
You’ll be based at Ecolab’s Northwich campus, supporting the Life Sciences division with a focus on sustainability initiatives, ESG data, and customer engagement. This apprenticeship is designed to help you build a career in sustainability while gaining exposure to key business challenges across a global leader in contamination control.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a critical role in transforming sustainability data and insights into actionable strategies, strengthening Ecolab’s position as a leader in responsible contamination control solutions. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

ESG Data Management & Reporting
- Assist in collection, organisation, and analysis of ESG data to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
- Ensure data accuracy and support timely responses to investor, regulatory, and stakeholder requests.

Customer Sustainability Engagement
- Work with cross-functional teams to address customer inquiries related to ESG data, performance, and Ecolab’s sustainability strategy.
- Help present the value of our solutions for sustainable operations in pharmaceutical and personal care industries.

Market Research & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct research on industry trends, sustainability methodologies, and emerging innovations.
- Provide competitive landscape insights to inform strategy.

Content Creation & Communication
- Support the development of internal and external communications, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and alignment with Ecolab’s sustainability goals.

Events & Cross-Functional Initiatives
- Contribute to the coordination of sustainability-related events.
- Collaborate with teams across the organisation to promote better practices in contamination control and sustainability.

Process Improvement
- Help maintain and enhance sustainability processes, databases, and workflows to improve efficiency and consistency.
What You’ll Need
To succeed in this role, you should be:
- Passionate about ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) topics and committed to driving positive sustainability outcomes.
- A self-starter who can work independently but also collaborate effectively as part of a global, cross-functional team.
- Enthusiastic, solution-focused, and proactive with a "can-do" attitude.
- Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in another European language is an advantage but not mandatory.

Working Arrangements
- Location: Northwich, UK
- Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
- Contract Duration: Apprenticeship programme (specific duration to be confirmed during recruitment)
- Notice: No immigration sponsorship available for this role.
