This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional, recent graduate, or someone completing a graduate scheme who is passionate about sustainability and keen to build a rewarding career in a purpose-driven organisation.
The Role
As a Sustainability Assistant, you will support the delivery of Babcock's sustainability strategy, helping the business monitor, report on and improve its environmental and social performance. Working within the Group Sustainability team and reporting directly to the Group Head of Sustainability Engagement, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of sustainability initiatives while developing valuable skills across engagement, reporting, environmental and social impact programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build your career in sustainability within a leading international organisation operating across defence, aerospace and engineering. Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the delivery of the sustainability engagement strategy across the business.
- Contributing to sustainability reporting activities, including annual report content and supporting materials.
- Assisting with environmental, social and sustainability data projects across multiple functions.
- Building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the wider organisation to support sustainability objectives.
- Managing competing priorities while handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
