Job Description
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of ASOS’s sustainable materials and circular design targets. Working closely with internal teams and suppliers, the Sustainability Assistant will help monitor progress against sustainability targets, support certification and compliance processes, maintain accurate data and reporting, and contribute to training, guidance and process improvements. The role would suit someone highly organised, detail-focused and passionate about sustainability in fashion, with a collaborative approach and confidence working with data.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainable Materials and Circular Design Programme Delivery
- Support the delivery of ASOS’s sustainability and circular design strategy across multiple core product categories, aligning with internal targets and external frameworks.
- Analyse Sustainability data to identify risks to target delivery and identify opportunities
- Develop and deliver training and resources for internal teams and suppliers
- Act as a key contact for designated suppliers and buying teams, building collaborative relationships to drive performance against targets
- Stay up to date with the latest sustainability and industry developments

Data, Compliance & Reporting
- Lead weekly green claims compliance checks to ensure ASOS remains compliant with legislation
- Produce audit-ready documentation to support internal governance and external reporting requirements
- Support reporting to external bodies including Better Cotton and Textile Exchange
- Maintain accurate supplier databases, trackers and critical paths.
- Assist with maintaining policies, procedures and internal guidance documents
Sustainability Materials Certification
- Assess and validate supplier documentation including certifications such as GRS, RCS, OCS & GOTS to ensure compliance.
- Manage ASOS Better Cotton Platform account, including monitoring transactions and escalating discrepancies or misallocations.
- Work with suppliers to troubleshoot certification issues and track supplier compliance
Team & Administrative Support
- Manage routine team tasks including invoicing approvals and meeting scheduling
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to reduce manual workload and increase efficiency.
- Prepare clear internal updates, summaries and presentations for key stakeholders

Qualifications
Key Skills
- Experience working in fashion, retail or sustainability
- Understanding of:
- Key sustainability risks within fashion
- Sustainable materials standards and certification
- Supply chains and manufacturing processes
- Excellent organisational skills, highly detail focused and able to manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Confident working with data and automation with good understanding of Microsoft Office programmes including Excel
- Clear, confident communication skills, building positive relationships and collaborating with ease
- Comfortable working independently but love being part of a supportive, collaborative team culture
