Overview
We're looking for an experienced Sustainability Consultant to join the team at Enistic, working on a diverse portfolio of client projects spanning carbon reporting, energy analysis, and ESG strategy. This is primarily a desk-based role — the majority of your time will be spent on data analysis, modelling, and producing high-quality written reports and calculations. You'll occasionally be required to carry out energy audits at smaller client sites, but the core of the role is analytical and report-driven. You'll take ownership of larger, more complex projects and help raise the bar for quality across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on complex sustainability and carbon reporting projects from brief to delivery
- Conduct detailed energy analysis and GHG emissions calculations for a range of clients
- Produce clear, accurate, and well-structured written reports and recommendations
- Translate large datasets into meaningful insights and practical action plans
- Support clients in developing and progressing their sustainability strategies
- Carry out a small number of on-site energy audits at smaller client sites (this is a minor part of the role — the majority of work is desk-based)
- Stay current with evolving sustainability regulations, reporting frameworks and best practice
- Collaborate with colleagues across the advisory team on multi-disciplinary projects
- Contribute to internal quality assurance and peer review of client deliverables
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a sustainability, carbon, or energy consultancy role
- Strong working knowledge of GHG reporting frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, Scope 1, 2 & 3)
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written reports and technical calculations
- Comfortable working predominantly at a desk — this is an analytical, document-intensive role
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel or equivalent)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical literacy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Right to work in the UK

Desirable Requirements
- Familiarity with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) — particularly target-setting methodology and validation processes
- Experience with TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) or IFRS S1 & S2 sustainability reporting standards
- Exposure to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology or tools
- Relevant degree in environmental science, engineering, geography, or a related discipline
- Professional membership or working towards accreditation (e.g. IEMA, CEnv)
- Experience using carbon accounting or sustainability software platforms
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience

- Oxford, OX4 6LB (Chatsworth House Heritage Gate, East Point Business Park)
- Office-based, full-time (Monday – Friday)
- Flexible working hours available
- Hybrid working of up to 2 days per week from home, available after successful completion of probation

About the Team
You'll be joining a specialist advisory team working across a wide range of sectors and client types. The team handles everything from straightforward carbon footprint calculations to complex multi-year sustainability programmes. There's a strong culture of technical rigour and collaborative peer review — quality of output matters here. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business as well as directly with clients.
