My client is a team of specialists in sustainability consultancy, dedicated to supporting projects across a diverse range of sectors, including education, retail, residential, leisure, and commercial. Our experienced professionals provide practical, honest, and commercially focused advice, helping clients achieve ambitious environmental targets.

Expertise spans across BREEAM, Net Zero Carbon, Whole Life Carbon, and ESG consultancy. Delivering tailored sustainability solutions that balance environmental performance, cost-effectiveness, and project requirements.

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Sustainability Consultant to join our client's team in their Cardiff office. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while advancing your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Day-to-Day

  • Collaborating with clients, architects, and project teams to integrate sustainability strategies into building designs.
  • Conducting detailed assessments and analyses to evaluate environmental performance.
  • Preparing and submitting BREEAM assessments and other sustainability certifications.
  • Using tools like OneClick LCA and IES VE to model and assess energy and carbon impacts.
  • Attending project meetings and providing expert advice on sustainability-related matters.
  • Contributing to the development of innovative solutions to meet client sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

As a Sustainability Consultant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting BREEAM assessments and providing expert guidance to clients.
  • Delivering Embodied Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and operational energy modelling using tools such as OneClick LCA and IES VE.
  • Supporting clients in achieving Net Zero Carbon goals and other environmental targets.
  • Providing consultancy services across a variety of sectors, ensuring sustainability principles are integrated into project designs and strategies.
  • Preparing high-quality reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability and environmental consultancy.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the built environment, working on UK projects.
  • Proven experience in conducting BREEAM assessments.
  • Proficiency in using OneClick LCA and IES VE software.
  • Strong knowledge of BREEAM and Net Zero Carbon principles, with the ability to apply these across building projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering Embodied Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and operational energy modelling.
  • A track record of working on sustainability consultancy projects, supporting clients in achieving environmental and sustainability targets.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
