Chelsea, London | Five days a week in the office

About ITI
ITI is a specialist sustainability consultancy focused on the maritime industry with offices in London and Singapore. It is part of the MTI Network, the global risk management company.
We advise listed and private shipping companies across Asia, Europe and the US on sustainability strategy, decarbonisation, regulatory compliance and reporting.
The role
You will be responsible for a portfolio of global clients, own those relationships day to day, and be responsible for the quality of work delivered. That work ranges from decarbonisation strategy and compliance to the reports and briefings that go to boards, investors and lenders.
What you will do
- Be the main point of contact for your clients, managing the scope of work, client expectations and finding where we can do more for them.
- Lead projects from start to finish.
- Advise on emissions baselines, targets and transition plans.
- Research and benchmark clients against peers and regulatory developments, and turn the findings into clear recommendations.
- Write and edit reports, board briefings and client papers. Most of our work ends up in writing, and we value clear, plain writing.
- Present to senior management and boards.
- Win new work by growing accounts, building relationships across the industry, and leading proposals and pitches.
- Contribute across the business wherever you are needed.

What we are looking for
Essential
- At least five years in client-facing consulting or advisory, including leading projects and managing client relationships.
- A sound technical grasp of GHG accounting (GHG Protocol, Scopes 1–3), target-setting and transition planning.
- Excellent written English.
- Expected to work from our Chelsea office five days a week and to travel internationally as required.
Desirable
- Sustainable finance experience, such as lender and investor requirements, taxonomy alignment or sustainability-linked instruments.
- Working knowledge of sustainability frameworks and regulations such as ISSB (IFRS S1 and S2), GRI and CSRD/ESRS.
- Experience in shipping or another asset-heavy sector, such as real estate (GRESB, CRREM), infrastructure or energy.
- Business development experience, such as building client relationships, proposals, pitches or account growth.
The person
You are a self-starter who takes ownership without being asked. You are direct and resilient, and you hold your ground in debate while maintaining an open mind.
You are pragmatic about decarbonisation in an hard-to-abate sector. Our clients differ widely in maturity and priorities, and you can engage with that honestly and constructively.
Work matters to you as part of a full life, not the whole of it. You are curious about the world beyond shipping and sustainability, and you bring interests and perspectives from outside work.

How we work
We are a small core team supported by specialist associates. Roles are not siloed, and everyone contributes where needed. We have an open, challenging culture: work is reviewed rigorously before it reaches a client, and everyone is encouraged to question ideas, including the Director's.
The work comes in peaks. Around deadlines, that can mean late evenings, early mornings, weekend flights and time away. Outside those periods the pace is steadier and there is real flexibility. We are a close team and enjoy spending time together outside work, including team trips.
