We’re looking for a highly motivated and technically strong data analyst to join our team. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our client delivery work and you’ll be an important part of our team. It’s an ideal role for someone who has built a solid foundation in carbon and climate data and is now ready to continue their development by jumping into a wide range of data-focused projects.
Our Data Work Has Two Main Focuses
- Emissions: carbon data management, emissions measurement and data-driven decarbonisation planning
- Climate risk: climate risk modelling, risk assessment and data-informed mitigation strategies
First and foremost, we’re looking for someone with strong carbon footprinting skills. You should have the knowledge and confidence to complete a carbon footprint, taking ownership of the data work and consulting with colleagues on complex methodology questions.

However, we’re looking for someone who’s interested in developing their data skills further by supporting climate risk assessments, using and contributing to our proprietary whole-of-value-chain risk model.
Beyond project delivery, you may also be required to support business development activities, contribute to proposals and adapt to new business requirements as Sirocco grows.
Most importantly of all, we’re looking for someone with a great attitude and a desire to learn.
Requirements:
- 2–4 years of experience in a climate and/or carbon-focused data role, either within a consultancy or an in-house sustainability team
- Technical knowledge and practical experience of carbon accounting and emissions measurement. This includes the creation of Scope 1, 2 and 3 Greenhouse gas inventories for businesses across different sectors, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with relevant frameworks and standards
- Strong Excel and data governance skills, demonstrating an ability to interpret, manipulate and manage data of varying quality, creating clear and understandable outputs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when explaining technical concepts clearly to a non-specialist audience
- The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, working independently, while keeping colleagues and clients informed
- A genuine passion for climate action and sustainability, combined with the commercial awareness to ensure the highest quality of delivery for our clients
We believe talent lies in all sorts of places. While relevant qualifications (such as a degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering or a related field) and professional certifications in sustainability or climate-related disciplines are welcome, they are not a pre-requisite to applying.
