Job Description
The UK National Sustainability Officer's team has a key responsibility in the establishment and development of:
- A robust regulatory monitoring and compliance system in the UK across all sites and divisions
- An environmental management system in line with the client's ISO14001 certification
- A cultural mindset change to ensure that Sustainability matters are embedded in all that we do, achieved via internal and external Social value and Community Impact activities
- Several company-wide roadmaps targeted at the achievement of client's Top Company Environmental Objectives, namely: industrial aviation substance supply chain, human rights
The UK National Sustainability Officer's team delivers these activities through 3 pillars: regulatory affairs, business integration, and social value and engagement
Scope of the Mission
The scope of this mission will be to project manage, coordinate stakeholders' engagement and support the delivery of the activities above within the perimeter of the UK affiliates with a specific focus on the newly acquired sites of Belfast and Prestwick
Key Requirements
- Demonstrate understanding of relevant key Sustainability legislation and standards, and working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems, ISO 14001 certification, and related processes and procedures
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the Company's corporate Sustainability strategy and commitments
- Be able to understand global Sustainability issues and associated trends
- Be able to create content on a variety of sustainability topics
- Have excellent communication skills, fluent in English (excellent writing and speaking level)
- Have excellent organisational and project management skills to deliver a wide selection of projects over multiple sites
- Master Google Suite's functionalities
- Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a diplomatic and engaging way of working

- Support the regulatory affairs pillar by ensuring on time, cost, quality (TCQ) delivery of compliance related data from site and/or legal entities stakeholders
- Support the business integration pillar, ensuring TCQ delivery of site risks, auditing plan, site assessments and including organisation of all relevant visits for the team
- Support the social value and engagement pillar, by engaging with local stakeholders to support the delivery of any agreed social value or engagement activities
Main Tasks
- Coordination of all relevant internal and external stakeholders in the UK affiliates' sites and support delivery of key strategic projects, ensuring regular reporting to the UK National Sustainability Officer's team
- Support execution of means of compliance consisting in recurring conformity actions such as (but not limited to): EPR, chemicals rationalise and improve on the data sharing, communication and governance between the local operational teams and the central UK team
- Support the availability and reporting of accurate consolidated environmental data and information to contribute to client's environmental communication
- Manage national environmental documentation and any inputs required in the relevant tools (FISH, etc)
- Develop relevant projects, processes and procedures to ensure new systems are in place aligned with Sustainability company objectives and UK national requirements
- Support review of all updated processes and procedure including implications and compliance requirements at the UK level (including coordination at the country level for the development of the EMS into the Company's BMS)
- Project manage and lead relevant Sustainability projects assigned to the new Sparrow sites and report on related KPIs
- Attend any required site / legal entities Sustainability meetings
- Provide support in compiling a national overview of public funding opportunities in the UK, including status and CAPEX funding specific to the client's sites
- Support risks and opportunities identification and management at the UK national level, consolidate and report R&Os and monitor the actions identified, emerging from the Sparrow sites. Participate in the Sustainability Risk Review Board as requested
- Support the deployment of client-specific policies and targets in the areas of High5+ environmental targets, Biodiversity, Climate adaptation, ISO14001, related to the client's sites
- Identify local opportunities for Social Value and Community Impact projects and liaise with relevant stakeholders to organise visits and other engagement activities (sustainability week, etc)
- Support extension of the Early Careers framework to Belfast and Prestwick

An action tracker will be created to show progress on the assigned activities that shall be reviewed at the weekly team meetings. The supplier account manager shall attend these meetings once a month to check the overall progress of the package of work
Note
This role requires regular travel to Belfast and Broughton sites
Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance, which typically requires British citizenship
