Sustainability Manager - Built Environment
Location: Central London
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
Working pattern: Four days per week in the office
Madison Berkeley is working with a leading UK commercial property owner to appoint a Sustainability Manager across its major standing portfolio of office, retail, and mixed-use assets.
Sitting within the Operations team and reporting to the Head of Environmental Sustainability, this role will focus on turning corporate sustainability commitments into practical, measurable improvements at asset level.
You will work closely with property management, asset management, development, and leasing teams to improve operational building performance and deliver the organisation’s longer-term net-zero ambitions.

About you
We are looking for someone with:
- Significant sustainability experience within property, construction, or the built environment.
- Experience working across occupied commercial buildings or a standing property portfolio.
- Strong knowledge of energy and carbon accounting, modelling, and performance data.
- The technical ability to review whole-building M&E systems, BMS, and EMS platforms.
- Experience with frameworks such as NABERS, CRREM, SBTi, EPC, BREEAM In-Use, and the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard.
- Exposure to ESG benchmarks and submissions such as GRESB, CDP, or DJSI.
- The ability to develop commercially robust business cases for sustainability and energy projects.
- Strong project-management, communication, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
