Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as Sustainability Officer and you will lead and support the development and execution of Siemens Healthineers' sustainability strategy in Great Britain and Ireland. The role will ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, drive internal initiatives toward net zero, and represent Healthineers in key forums. This position is critical to aligning regional activities with global strategy and delivering measurable environmental and social impact.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Development & Planning

  • Develop and maintain the GB&I Sustainability Strategy in alignment with global targets and local stakeholder needs. Including tracking actions, owner, risks, and KPIs.
  • Lead the GB&I Sustainability Board & Committee meetings, reporting progress to leadership team.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional carbon reduction initiatives and commercial sustainability propositions.
  • Coordinate sustainability input into corporate and regional planning processes.

  • Produce and maintain Carbon Reduction Plans (CRPs), including Scope 3 emissions reporting.
  • Lead the annual update of EcoVadis and Evergreen ESG assessments.
  • Produce Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) for annual accounts.
  • Support the Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) process.
  • Coordinate Energy Audit and Savings Plans for ESOS, reporting to the Environment Agency.

Commercial & Tender Support

  • Ensure alignment with the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap and Carbon Reduction Plan requirements.
  • Provide sustainability, net zero, and social value input into customer tenders and procurement processes.
  • Support the development of the social value model strategy.
  • Respond to customer Net Zero and ESG questionnaires with accurate, timely, and aligned information.
  • Liaise with commercial teams to strengthen Healthineers’ sustainability positioning.

Stakeholder Engagement & Representation

  • Serve as the key point of contact for customers on sustainability topics.
  • Represent Siemens Healthineers GB&I in external forums (e.g., AXREM, BIVDA, NHS forums).
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to advance supplier engagement, procurement collaboration, logistics optimisation, product lifecycle impact reduction, and circular economy initiatives.
  • Participate in internal working groups (e.g., social value model) and the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee.
  • Engage and communicate GB&I sustainability strategy and progress with the global Sustainability team.

Work Experience

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in sustainability or environmental compliance, ideally within the healthcare or technology sector.
  • Proven experience producing CRPs and handling ESG frameworks (e.g., EcoVadis, SECR, TCFD, ESOS).
  • Deep understanding of carbon accounting (GHG Protocol, Scopes 1–3), net zero pathways, and UK/Ireland regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with NHS sustainability and procurement frameworks.
  • Commercial experience in customer-facing sustainability roles.
  • Insight into global sustainability standards and disclosure frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret carbon data and performance indicators.
  • Proactive self-starter with excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Project management and multitasking ability in a matrix organisation.
  • Confident presenting to customers, regulators, and leadership teams.
