The Role
We are looking for a Sustainability Operations Executive to join our ESG team, supporting the day-to-day delivery of our sustainability programme across the portfolio. This is a hands-on role covering utility and performance data, compliance tracking, tenant engagement, and reporting. It's a great opportunity for someone early in their sustainability career to build broad experience across real estate ESG, with the scope to take on more responsibility, including ownership of committee meetings, as they develop in the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Chase and validate monthly utility data (gas, electricity, water) from FM/site teams and utility providers
- Maintain the EPC tracker and flag upcoming expiries to relevant stakeholders
- Track accreditation and certification renewals (e.g. BREEAM In-Use, ISO 14001, ModeScore)
- Respond to routine tenant and client ESG data requests and questionnaires
- Support GRESB and other benchmarking submissions (e.g. SSBB forms)
- Research emerging regulations and market trends, feeding relevant updates into the team
- Draft and update ESG brochure and marketing content
- Attend site walkarounds and support tenant engagement on sustainability initiatives
- Maintain the ESG document library (M Drive), keeping records accurate and audit-ready
- Take minutes and track actions from ESG committee meetings, with a view to running these meetings independently over time
- Provide ad hoc support to the wider team's weekly prep and reporting cycles

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong Excel skills — comfortable validating and tracking data across multiple sites
- Working knowledge of utility data and basic energy/carbon reporting concepts
- Familiarity with EPC ratings and the compliance/expiry cycle
- Understanding of ESG frameworks and accreditations (e.g. BREEAM, ISO 14001), or a strong willingness to learn
- Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines across different stakeholders
- Confident, professional written communication for client- and tenant-facing correspondence
- Experience with document management systems (e.g. SharePoint/shared drives) and maintaining structured records
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when validating data
- Minute-taking and action-tracking experience
- A proactive, can-do approach and comfort working with ambiguity in an evolving role
Desirable
- Exposure to GRESB or similar ESG benchmarking submissions
- Research skills, with the ability to summarise regulatory or market updates concisely for the team
- Basic copywriting ability for marketing-facing material (brochures, case studies)
- Specific interest in real estate/property sustainability, rather than corporate ESG generally
- Working knowledge of relevant regulation (e.g. MEES, SECR, upcoming EPC reforms)
- A relevant degree (sustainability, environmental science, real estate, geography) or equivalent experience
