The Role
We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Sustainability & Social Value Coordinator to help turn our sustainability ambitions into measurable action.
This is a varied role covering ESG and carbon reporting, social value, customer support, employee engagement, and sustainability projects. You’ll work across the business, helping to coordinate our sustainability strategy and ensuring initiatives move from ideas into meaningful outcomes.
It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in sustainability, ESG, and social value within a business where environmental and social impact genuinely matter.
The Business
Recycling Lives Services is not a typical recycling company. Since 2008, our business has been built around social value – employing people from disadvantaged backgrounds, partnering with the justice system to reduce reoffending, and delivering environmental excellence at scale.
As a certified B Corp, scoring 103.5 against a business median of 50.9, we generated £42.9m in social value in 2024, achieved a 61% reduction in CO₂ emissions, and diverted 97% of waste from landfill.
We operate UK-wide across construction, manufacturing, retail, utilities, and public sector markets, providing total waste management, WEEE recycling, and specialist hazardous waste services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
