Job Description
Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a fixed term 12 month role
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and Environment, you will be working as part of the Sustainability & Environment Team as the lead specialist for delivering sustainability and net zero strategies and programmes.
The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that also provides integrated sustainability and carbon management services to NHS and other public sector organisations across the UK. They will have responsibility for delivering projects and programme work with and on behalf of other NHS providers within the Sussex and Surrey Integrated Care System (ICS) and beyond.
Key Duties
- To ensure the coordination and delivery of sustainability and net zero programmes within SCFT and our partner NHS organisations. This will include client management as part of the team’s consultancy services.
- To develop and implement Green Plans in line with net zero and other targets and guidance set by NHSE through the Greener NHS Programme as required.
- To develop and maintain sustainability reporting systems including carbon footprint reporting and KPIs.
- To support development of a Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for the Trust and partner trusts in the region.
- To work alongside the Head of Environmental Services and other senior staff to develop the Trust’s sustainability strategy and develop external commercial opportunities.
- To implement key sustainability related projects.
- To work with the team in other areas of sustainability, as required.
