Join us as Vice President, within our Sustainable Project Finance. This sits within Investment Banking, an established franchise in growth mode, focused on delivering innovative financing solutions across the infrastructure and energy ecosystem. The team structures complex non- and limited-recourse financing transactions, supporting clients throughout the entire transaction lifecycle from origination and credit assessment through to execution and closing and collaborating with colleagues on any refinancing strategies.

You will work on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and energy transactions, partnering closely with clients, advisors, institutions, credit colleagues, and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in evaluating project risks, structuring financing solutions, and supporting strategic client relationships in a fast-paced front-office environment.

You will have exposure to multiple live transactions simultaneously, providing opportunities to contribute across origination, financial analysis, structuring, credit approval processes, and deal execution. The role offers an excellent platform to develop deep expertise within infrastructure, energy, and sustainable finance markets whilst working alongside a highly collaborative and experienced team.

Essential Skills Required

  • Relevant experience within Project, Energy, Infrastructure Finance, Infrastructure Advisory, or Leveraged Finance with cash flow lending exposure.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Experience assessing, structuring, and executing cash flow-based lending transactions.
  • A sound understanding of non-recourse financing structures and project finance principles.
  • Experience evaluating project risks, construction risks, cost overruns, risk allocation frameworks, and financing mitigants.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple live transactions and competing priorities in a dynamic front-office environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across complex transaction teams.

Other Skills Of Value To The Role

  • Knowledge of UK and European infrastructure, energy, renewable energy, or wider sustainable finance markets.
  • Experience across the full transaction lifecycle including origination, credit analysis, structuring, and execution.
  • Literacy in capital market refinancing routes, including rating agency methodologies.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to operate effectively under demanding deadlines.
  • A collaborative team-oriented approach and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.

This role is based in London.

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

Purpose of the role

To raise capital and manage the financial risk of clients, including financial advisory services, identification and origination of market opportunities, research, economic analysis.

Accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate, financial, and institutional clients to understand their financing needs and objectives.
  • Development and maintenance of complex financial models to assess the value of assets, companies, or securities and identify the most appropriate structuring of capital raising initiatives, including equity financing via an initial public offering, investment grade debt underwriting, leveraged financing solutions for non-investment grade clients, or derivative hedging solutions.
  • Collaboration with Coverage, M&A, Syndicate, Global Markets, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful origination, company due diligence, and execution of various capital market transactions.
  • Identification, assessment, and management of risks associated with capital markets transactions and development of risk mitigation strategies in alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Research, financial data analysis, and continued development of market insights and investment recommendations.

Vice President Expectations

  • To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • If managing a team, they define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the department’s future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance, and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes. They may also lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, in alignment with strategic as well as tactical priorities, while balancing short and long-term goals and ensuring that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work their team does.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the organisation's functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
