Role Overview

As a Sustainable Supply Chain Co-ordinator at Commercial, you will actively support with a blend of procurement and sustainable initiatives across a diverse range of products and services such as Smart Technology, Cloud & Datacentre, Digital Workspace, PPE & Workwear, Facilities, Workplace Supplies and more. You will work closely with procurement colleagues and sustainability specialists to manage supplier relationships, ensure compliance, promote best practices, and support the business’ environmental objectives.

This varied role involves working closely with the Head of Procurement to drive the company’s Supplier Relationship Management programme. You will establish strong, long-lasting relationships with key suppliers, ensuring that relevant stakeholders within Commercial have access to necessary training and certifications.

Collaborating with suppliers, you will help position Commercial at the forefront of product and service innovation. Additionally, you will partner with suppliers and our Marketing team to shape and deliver impactful product campaigns for our sales teams. You will also support the Head of Procurement and Sustainability Manager in delivering key projects.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a Sustainable Supply Chain Co-ordinator will be:

  • Collaborate with sustainability colleagues to assist with data gathering, reporting, and improvement strategies, particularly related to Scope 3 emissions and sustainability audits (e.g. EcoVadis, ISO standards, GHG Protocol).
  • Support the management and enhancement of supplier sustainability practices and compliance with relevant regulations and frameworks.
  • Work with the professional services teams across the business to ensure that all technical employees are suitably accredited and qualified as required from the business from time to time.
  • Ensure all new suppliers are onboarded following robust due diligence processes to guarantee compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with the legal team and other internal stakeholders to ensure supplier contract management best practices are adhered to.
  • Establish strong and meaningful connections with key suppliers.
  • Source new product and service opportunities from our supply chain and present them back to senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Negotiate favourable terms, agreements, and pricing with suppliers to maximize profitability and value for our company.
  • Analyse supplier data to identify opportunities for spend consolidation and sustainability improvements.
  • Produce regular supplier performance reports focused on sustainability metrics, compliance levels, and environmental impact.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our suppliers, products, and services in order to comply with the science-based targets.
  • Accurately collate data from multiple information sources in order to update and maintain purpose driven sustainability reports.
  • Work closely with suppliers to leverage available marketing funds and resources to promote our services and drive sales.
  • Develop marketing plans and initiatives aligned with supplier programs and guidelines.
  • Monitor and track the utilisation of supplier marketing funds, ensuring compliance with agreed-upon terms and maximising return on investment.
  • Stay informed about product roadmaps, updates, and end-of-life cycles for suppliers products and services.
  • Work proactively with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to capitalise on new product launches and updates.
  • Develop strategies for transitioning clients away from end-of-life products to newer offerings, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations.

About You

It would be beneficial if you have a university degree in a relevant subject such as Environmental Science, Business Studies or Geography but is not essential.

  • Analytical nature, with a positive approach to interpreting numerical data and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify issues and implement creative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively inter-departmentally, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Highly organised with excellent administration skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise effectively to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and with others and to operate a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines.
