About The Borough

With a workforce of two hundred colleagues we're small enough to be friendly and large enough to give you scope to develop and progress your career. About The Role And Our Ideal Candidate

  • Good knowledge and experience of working in a support or similar service.
  • Be literate and numerate to a level required to do the job in a professional and accurate manner
  • Competent use of Word, Excel and email
  • Able to write clear detailed reports & update records
  • Able to maintain a calm & professional manner, especially in stressful and difficult situations
  • Efficient use of time and works well in a well-structured way
  • Able and willing to follow procedures
  • Communicate calmly, clearly and appropriately, in person and on the telephone, with a wide variety of vulnerable people, some of whom will have disabilities and the emergency services and other staff
  • Able to work without direct supervision and ensure the task is completed correctly before leaving the site.
  • Performs effectively by keeping professional and calm, especially in stressful and difficult situations.
  • Shows commitment to the working environment, colleagues, customers and needs of the organisation.
  • Knowledge and experience of problem solving and decision making.
  • Responds positively to changing business needs and happily adapts behaviours accordingly.
  • Takes responsibilities and is accountable for personal behaviours, decisions and effectiveness.
  • Consistently works to a high standard and seeks to continually improve.
  • Listens, anticipates and seeks to exceed the expectations and needs of our residents.
  • Builds and maintains good relationships with customers and colleagues.

  • Hold or be able to achieve a level 3 certificate in support /housing

Desirable

  • Understand the concept of ‘person centred’ support and how to deliver this support
  • Experience of organising events for diverse customers
  • Experience of using Google [google hangouts,documents, mail, sheets

About Us

Sutton Connect is a short intervention service and offers essential support to residents aged 55 and over living in the London Borough of Sutton and Sutton Housing Partnership tenancies who wish to maintain independent living in their property, but require additional assistance.

We support residents with skill development to help them sustain their accommodation, offering information, guidance, and access to services and activities that will enhance their independence, health and wellbeing.

Our team members consist of a Housing Support Manager, Two full time Coordinators and one part time coordinator. All members of the team bring a wealth of knowledge and experience around supporting our residents, with Benefit Maximisation and applications, Housing applications, and generally sustaining their tenancies. We work together as a proactive, friendly team and share our experiences, knowledge, and ideas to support the SHP HOME Values, this extends to the Independent Living Team.
