SVO Build Lead Technician

Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Hours: 39 hours per week | Monday to Thursday 06:30 - 15:30, Friday 06:30 - 11:30

Join Aston Martin and Help Shape Extraordinary Vehicles

At Aston Martin, we are driven by a passion for creating the world's most beautiful high-performance vehicles. Every car we produce reflects exceptional craftsmanship, precision engineering, and an unwavering commitment to quality. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated SVO Build Lead Technician to join our Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team at our Gaydon manufacturing facility.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the build and delivery of some of Aston Martin's most exclusive and specialist vehicles, working within a highly skilled team responsible for achieving the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

The Role

As an SVO Build Lead Technician, you will support daily build operations across a range of assembly stations while providing guidance, motivation, and technical support to fellow technicians. Working closely with the Group Leader, engineers, quality teams, and build support functions, you will help ensure vehicles are built to exacting standards while driving continuous improvement across the production process.

You will be responsible for carrying out build activities in line with defined processes and standards using the EASE system, identifying and escalating build issues, supporting trial builds and vehicle launch activities, and contributing to effective problem-solving initiatives. You will also play an important role in training technicians on new models and processes, supporting equipment and tooling validation activities, and helping to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient working environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail, maintain the highest levels of workmanship and quality, and support the wider manufacturing team as required.

What You'll Bring

You will have excellent manual dexterity, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a natural focus on quality. Previous experience within a vehicle assembly, automotive manufacturing, or production environment is highly desirable, alongside the ability to coach and train others on processes and role requirements.

Experience of vehicle assembly processes and familiarity with manufacturing systems such as EASE would be advantageous, as would basic computer literacy. An NVQ in Automotive Production, Repair, or Maintenance would be beneficial but is not essential.

Most importantly, you will be a reliable and proactive team player who takes ownership of your work, demonstrates initiative, and consistently strives to achieve outstanding results.
