Senior Low Latency Engineer

Build the Technology Behind Modern Financial Markets

Join a global financial markets technology organisation where engineering plays a central role in powering electronic trading, market connectivity and real-time decision making.

This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that support high-performance trading environments. You will contribute to the design and development of low-latency platforms, collaborate with experienced engineers and architects, and help drive modernisation initiatives across a large-scale technology landscape.

The Team

This is a senior-level engineering role responsible for designing, developing and enhancing high-performance application frameworks and infrastructure.

The position sits within a specialist engineering group focused on low-latency trading technology, distributed systems and application architecture. The team partners closely with engineering teams across the organisation to provide technology frameworks, performance optimisation expertise and strategic guidance for electronic trading platforms.

The successful candidate will bring deep experience in low-latency systems engineering, with strong expertise across technologies such as Java, C++, Rust, KDB and market data infrastructure. Experience working on algorithmic trading platforms, market data replay systems and simulation or back-testing frameworks is highly desirable.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
