SVP, Partnerships | Private Capital Services | London

This is a chance to build a partnerships function at a firm that already has the clients and the delivery capability to make it pay. You'd be the senior hire in a new function, reporting to the head of corporate development and working closely with the leadership team. As the function grows, you'll be expected to hire and manage your own small team.

Partnerships here aren't a side project. Some are already live and producing work, and the business has made it a priority to turn more of them into revenue. That means real backing, and the results of your work will be easy to see.

The firm

My client is a well-established provider of outsourced execution and managed services to private equity, private credit and other alternative investment firms. They have a large global delivery team and commercial teams in London and New York.

They already have several live partnerships with private markets software platforms. They help those platforms' clients use the tools they've paid for, so much implementation spend doesn't go to waste. More platform partnerships are in the pipeline. The next push is into consulting: partnering with advisory and AI transformation firms that are good at winning work but stretched on delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role

Your time splits roughly evenly between two jobs. The first is building partnerships: mapping the ecosystem, qualifying targets, negotiating anything from pilots and referral deals to full MSAs, and keeping a healthy pipeline moving. The second is turning those partnerships into revenue, working alongside sales and account teams to generate opportunities, join pitches and support upsell into existing clients.

You'll also have a voice in corporate development, including acquisition targets that start life as partnership conversations.

The role is based in London because it sits between overseas delivery teams, sales in London and New York, and leadership in the US. You'd be the person who keeps it all moving across time zones.

Who they're looking for

You'll likely have experience in partnerships, alliances or strategic BD, and you'll understand how private capital firms actually work. Backgrounds that would suit include:

  • Consultancies implementing private markets technology, or data infrastructure partners working on Snowflake, Databricks and similar
  • Partnerships or alliances roles at private markets software or data vendors
  • Fintech and AI firms selling into funds and their portfolio companies
  • Vendor management or procurement roles inside a fund, if you've been on the other side of these relationships

You need to be genuinely hands-on with AI tools in your own work, not just conversant. Experience coordinating teams across the UK, US and India, or a similar spread, would help.
