Senior Product Development Manager

Citi is looking for a Senior Product Development Manager to lead the technical strategy and end-to-end product delivery for Complex Assets within its Investor Services business in London. Based at Citi's EMEA headquarters, this senior role sits at the intersection of product vision and technical execution, accountable for delivering solutions across OTC derivatives, Exchange Traded Derivatives, and Portfolio Swaps. This is an opportunity to shape the architectural roadmap for a strategically significant domain, working alongside senior business leaders, Technology, and Operations partners to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients at global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the technical strategy and architectural roadmap for Complex Assets product delivery, partnering with Product Management to translate the product vision into structured, executable plans.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle across Complex Assets, scoping releases, managing priorities, and driving the delivery of new products, features, and functionality from requirements through to implementation.
  • Oversee solution design, platform build, testing, and implementation for core products, removing obstacles and ensuring the team delivers against agreed milestones and business priorities.
  • Translate complex business requirements into clear functional specifications and technical designs, bridging the gap between Technology leaders, Business Managers, and senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor market, industry, and client trends within the Complex Assets space, applying relevant insights to shape and evolve Citi's products and solutions platforms.
  • Manage and mentor a team of product development specialists, overseeing resource allocation, work planning, and individual development to build a high-performing team.
  • Maintain rigorous controls and governance standards, conducting security and access reviews, approvals, and controls testing to uphold the firm's risk and compliance obligations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Extensive experience in the Complex Assets or Derivatives industry in a senior Product Development, Technology, or Solution Architecture capacity within financial services.
  • Deep technical knowledge of multi-asset class OTC derivatives, including lifecycle events, and the systems and processing requirements for Exchange Traded Derivatives and Portfolio Swaps.
  • Solid understanding of fund accounting principles as they apply to complex financial instruments, with awareness of the operational and architectural needs of Fund Accounting and Middle Office services.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and technical designs for financial instruments, managing delivery across large, cross-functional programmes.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing development budgets, investment tracking, and resource planning in a complex business environment.
  • Ability to establish and sustain senior client and stakeholder relationships, operating effectively across multiple business areas with clarity and authority.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
