AllianceBernstein Seeks SVP, ETF Specialist – Europe
AllianceBernstein is seeking an experienced SVP, ETF Specialist – Europe to establish the European ETF Specialist function. As the inaugural hire in this role, the successful candidate will play a key role in expanding AB's ETF franchise across Europe by serving as a senior ETF specialist, commercial partner, and market ambassador for the firm's ETF business.
Responsibilities
Build the European ETF Specialist Function
- Establish the European ETF Specialist function and serve as the firm's primary ETF specialist across the region.
- Act as a senior ETF subject matter expert, providing market insights and commercial support to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Help develop scalable approaches for client engagement, thought leadership, commercialization, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Partner closely with Distribution, Investments, Product Management, Capital Markets, Marketing, and Communications to support AB's European ETF growth initiatives.
- Contribute to the evolution of the ETF Specialist function as the European business expands.
Commercial Leadership & Client Engagement
- Partner with Distribution teams to support ETF business development across institutional, intermediary, private bank, and wealth management channels.
- Lead ETF related client meetings, investment discussions, due diligence presentations, and educational sessions.
- Develop trusted relationships with key clients, consultants, ETF allocators, research teams, and strategic distribution partners.
- Support commercialization strategies for new ETF launches and fundraising initiatives.
- Provide ETF portfolio implementation and market structure expertise to clients and internal stakeholders.

ETF Product Strategy
- Partner with Product Strategy and Development to identify opportunities for new ETF launches, product enhancements, and platform expansion.
- Provide commercial input on product positioning, distribution strategy, and go-to-market planning.
- Contribute European market insights and investor feedback to support the ongoing development of AB's global ETF strategy.
Thought Leadership & ETF Content
- Contribute to AB's ETF thought leadership efforts across Europe.
- Partner with Marketing and Investments to ensure consistent and differentiated ETF messaging.
- Represent AB's perspectives on ETF investing, portfolio implementation, and market developments.
Media & Industry Representation
- Represent AllianceBernstein in financial media, webinars, podcasts, and industry publications, as appropriate.
- Speak at ETF conferences, client events, and industry forums.
- Partner with Corporate Communications to support media engagement and promote AB's ETF capabilities.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights
- Monitor developments across the global ETF industry, including UCITS ETFs, regulation, distribution trends, competitive positioning, and product innovation.
- Share market intelligence and investor feedback with Product Management, Distribution, and senior leadership.
- Contribute insights that support business development, product evolution, and commercial priorities.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in ETFs, asset management, capital markets, investment strategy, or ETF product management, with significant experience in European markets.
- Demonstrated leadership within the ETF industry and a strong understanding of the European ETF ecosystem, including UCITS structures, market structure, regulation, and distribution.
- Proven track record of commercializing ETF products and partnering with institutional investors, intermediaries, wealth managers, consultants, and strategic distribution partners.
- Established reputation as an ETF thought leader with experience speaking publicly, engaging with financial media, and representing an organization at major industry events.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated success developing investment content and thought leadership.
- Strong commercial judgment, strategic thinking, and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency with Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, FactSet, and other investment analytics platforms.
- Willingness to travel throughout Europe and internationally.

Education & Credentials
- Bachelor's degree required.
- CFA, CAIA, MBA, or comparable advanced credential strongly preferred.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in one or more additional European languages is highly desirable.
