Swansea Carers Centre is a specialist voluntary organisation providing support to unpaid carers and former carers across the City & County of Swansea.

Swansea Carers Centre was the first Carers Centre in Wales to achieve the Carers Trust Excellence for Carers Award.

Chair of the Board of Trustees

Voluntary unpaid position, expenses reimbursed

Location: Swansea / Hybrid

Approx. 2 days per month, including monthly in person Board meetings in Swansea

Swansea Carers Centre are seeking an experienced, forward thinking, inspirational Chair to lead their Board of Trustees and help shape the next phase of their development.

The Chair will lead a committed Board of Trustees, ensuring Swansea Carers Centre is well-governed, financially sustainable and forward-looking. They are looking for individuals with strong governance experience, strategic insight, and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and partners. Candidates do not need to be based in Swansea, but they must be willing to attend monthly meetings in person.

The role is ideal for someone with experience chairing Boards or senior committees, and a passion for improving the lives of unpaid carers.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful, lasting impact on the lives of carers across Swansea. You’ll be joining a passionate team, a committed Board, and an organisation with a clear mission, strong values and a desire to evolve its governance and strategic leadership.
