Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Sweeper Driver role based in Northampton and East Anglia. The Sweeper Driver operates road sweeper vehicles and related equipment to clean streets, car parks, industrial sites, and airport or commercial areas as required. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Safely driving and maneuvering sweepers
- Following designated routes and schedules
- Disposing of collected waste responsibly
- Completing basic documentation
- Reporting any maintenance or safety issues

Sweeper Drivers interact with clients, site staff, and the public, maintaining professional communication and supporting Sweeptech’s commitment to safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations.
Qualifications
- Strong truck driving skills with experience operating commercial vehicles, including road sweepers and other truck-based equipment.
- Valid Class 2 (or equivalent large vehicle license) with a clean driving record and understanding of relevant traffic and safety regulations.
- Effective communication abilities to liaise with clients, supervisors, and team members, and to follow written and verbal instructions clearly.
- Customer service mindset, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and responsiveness when working on client sites and within local communities.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle checks, identify faults, and coordinate maintenance, with good attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Reliability in working full-time on-site in Northampton, including flexibility for early starts, occasional evenings, weekends, or shift work as needed.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete logs and reports; prior experience in waste management, environmental services, or municipal operations is beneficial.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, climb in and out of vehicles, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
