Role Description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Swim Instructor to join their team in the Ashburton or Kingsteignton. This is a full-time, on-site role delivering structured swimming lessons to individuals and small groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging, structured swim lessons
  • Teaching correct technique across a range of strokes and ability levels
  • Monitoring swimmer progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
  • Ensuring a safe pool environment and enforcing safety procedures
  • Responding effectively to any incidents or emergencies
  • Communicating with swimmers and parents/guardians regarding progress
  • Working collaboratively with the wider coaching team to maintain high standards

  • Proven experience in swim instruction, delivering lessons to a variety of age groups and abilities
  • Strong swimming and aquatics skills, including proficiency in all major strokes
  • Lifeguard qualification (or equivalent) with knowledge of rescue and emergency procedures
  • Recognised swim teaching/coaching qualification (e.g. ASA/Swim England or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and professional environment
  • CPR and First Aid certification (desirable)
