Swimming Teacher (Community Trust) – Part-Time/Casual

Location: Bletchley Leisure Centre, MK2 2HQ Working Hours: Part-Time / Casual (Monday–Sunday) Pay: £18–£20 per hour + excellent benefits
About the Role
At Serco, we’re recruiting on behalf of Leisure Solutions Community Trust to help deliver high-quality swimming lessons for all ages. Their mission is to foster active, healthy lifestyles in the local community through affordable, fun, and inclusive leisure services across safe, clean, and welcoming facilities.
Under their guidance, you’ll teachSwim England’s rigorous learn-to-swim framework, fostering confidence and productivity for swimmers—many of whom progress to competitive levels, including representing their country. The role isn’t just about lessons: it’s an investment in your career, offering flexibility, development opportunities, and a strong, supportive team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver safe, structured, and enjoyable swimming lessons aligned with Swim England standards
- Provide one-to-one and group sessions for learners of all ages and abilities
- Support the personal and professional growth of swimmers alongside your own career development
- Engage positively with diverse, local communities and promote active lifestyles

Key Responsibilities
✔ Customer service excellence – Engage with people of all ages, backgrounds, and needs. ✔ Progressive teaching – Plan and adapt lessons to each swimmer’s level. ✔ Safety-first mentality – Ensure all sessions adhere to Swim England / STA guidelines. ✔ Teamwork and adaptability – Flexible attendance and coverage across multiple centres.
Requirements
Qualifications (Essential)
- STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming OR
- Swim England Level 2 (formerly Level 2 ASA Swimming Teacher)
Desirable (Provided By Us If Needed)
✖ Valid RLSS UK NPLQ (or equivalent emergency aid) ✖ RLSS UK NRASTC ✖ STA Safety Award for Teachers
We’ll cover costs for DBS and safeguarding checks plus insurance—no personal financial commitment required.
