Swimming Teacher – Part-Time (15 Hours/Week)


Location Stechford Leisure Centre, Birmingham, B33 8QN

Salary Up to £15.88 per hour + excellent benefits

Contract Type Part-time: 15 hours per week (mixture of shifts)

As a Swimming Teacher, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality lessons, promoting safety, and inspiring participants – from beginners to more advanced swimmers – to unlock their full potential in the water.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored swimming lessons for participants of all ages and abilities
  • Ensure safe provision and correct use of equipment at all times
  • Maintain and reinforce strict safety standards during every lesson
  • Assess swimmers’ abilities and guide them to improve their skills
  • Provide clear explanations and demonstrate proper swimming techniques
  • Identify and correct swimming faults, offering ways to enhance performance

Essential & Desired Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold either a STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming or Swim England (Previously ASA) Level 2
  • Be a strong swimmer with the ability to demonstrate and maintain safety in the water (Note: A valid RLSS UK NPLQ or NRASTC, or STA Safety qualification is advantageous but not mandatory—additional training will be provided at no cost.)
