Syndicate Accountant – Lloyd’s Market

Location: London

An established provider of outsourced managing agency services within the Lloyd’s market is looking for an experienced Syndicate Accountant to join its growing finance team.

Reporting to the Syndicate Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the day-to-day finance activities of allocated syndicates, including financial reporting, regulatory returns, reconciliations, and management accounts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing syndicate management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing and reviewing Lloyd’s and Solvency UK regulatory returns.
  • Supporting annual report and accounts production.
  • Reviewing bookkeeping and financial controls.
  • Liaising with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting process improvement and project work, including new syndicate launches.

About you:

  • Qualified accountant.
  • At least 2 years’ insurance industry experience in syndicate reporting or Lloyd’s syndicate audit.
  • Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s returns and syndicate accounting.
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
