Responsibilities
- Provide professional commercial and cost control for multiple capital projects simultaneously
- Offer assistance and advice to the project management team and project engineers on all aspects of commercial contract management within Dŵr Cymru Frameworks
- Assist with the procurement and allocation of capital work to framework contractors
- Conduct detailed cost analysis of tender forms for capital projects
- Prepare all aspects of work orders ensuring all Dŵr Cymru project approval processes are followed
- Validate and agree contract values and target costs with framework contractors
- Identify, analyze, and develop responses to risks associated with commercial projects, ensuring risks are understood, valued, and assigned correctly
- Conduct monthly pricing of completed and invoiced work
- Manage the financial information flow between finance, SAP teams, project managers, and contractors
- Advise on contractual claims, early warning notices, and compensation events
- Agree final accounts at contractor and project level and approve them
- Conduct appropriate 'lessons learned' analysis post-project completion to ensure continuous improvement process is applied
- Assist in resolving disputes between third parties and Dŵr Cymru
- Understand the implications of Health and Safety Regulations
- Ensure information is managed correctly and timely
- Perform other duties as directed to meet the needs of the business
Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Eligible for degree level (or substantial relevant experience) and working towards chartered status
- Knowledge, experience, or understanding of NEC and other contract administration methods
- Excellent analytical and data understanding skills with the ability to extract relevant information and present it in a logical and structured manner
- Experience in cost management, demonstrating an excellent track record of commercially delivering projects ranging from £25k to £2m
- Excellent communicator and team player who understands the importance of ownership and accountability
- Experience and understanding of Health and Safety Legislation
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary engineering delivery team environment
- Ability to work to regulatory schedules and tight project timelines
- Valid UK driving license

- Location: This role can be located either in the South East Hub or the South West Hub, to be discussed during the interview process based on your current location
- Hybrid working pattern, with at least three days per week spent on-site or in the office and two days working remotely
- Regular travel to sites in the agreed region will be required. Business mileage and fuel costs can be claimed in line with company policy
- Note: This role does not include a car allowance
