Role: System Administrator (Remote)

Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere)
Job Type: Contract
Payout: $25 - $50/hour

Role Overview:

We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a System Administrator to work on a contract basis. The role involves managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, and supporting technical operations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance, and security oversight for critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and administer cloud-based infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including access controls and vulnerability assessments.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and deploy updates.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is required.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration and command-line operations is essential.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs, is necessary.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving system and application issues.
  • Ability to write and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation.
  • Understanding of IT security principles, including firewalls, encryption, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus is a plus.
